About the Event
Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, is hosting the 3rd edition of the Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition (HIMCC 2026) from March 13–15, 2026, at its Nava Raipur campus in Chhattisgarh. After the remarkable success of its previous editions, this flagship competition continues to reinforce HNLU’s legacy of academic excellence, advocacy skills, and strong international engagement.
The competition is organised in honour of Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah, one of India’s most eminent jurists and former Chief Justice of India. Since its inception, HIMCC has grown into a prestigious international platform where law students showcase their advocacy, research, and analytical abilities by arguing issues rooted in complex global legal challenges.
The 2026 edition will see participation from top national and international law schools. The preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds will be evaluated by an esteemed panel, including Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, senior advocates, partners from leading law firms, and distinguished legal scholars.
Eligibility
- Students enrolled as bona fide full-time learners in any recognised institution offering undergraduate or postgraduate law diploma courses may participate.
- Each recognised institution may send only one team.
- Universities with multiple constituent departments—such as colleges, institutes, schools, or faculties of law—may either send teams from each constituent unit or a single combined team representing the university.
Mode
The competition will be held offline at the HNLU campus, which offers state-of-the-art facilities, including a Master Moot Court Hall, several subsidiary courtrooms, and a 350-seat auditorium designated for the Grand Finale.
