SC Issues Notice On Another Plea Challenging Criminalization Of Triple Talaq

Last month, the court issued a notice in three petitions challenging the Constitutional Validity of Muslim Women (Right to Marriage) Act, 2019 by Samasti Kerala Jamiatul Ulema, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind and Aamir Rashadi Madani. It is worth noting that under Section 3 of the Act, a Muslim husband is sentenced to imprisonment which can be up to three years and in the event of a declaration of triple talaq.
