The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), New Delhi, invites applications for its 2025 Internship Programme, exclusively for women students, teachers, scholars, and social activists. The programme aims to provide a comprehensive learning experience and practical exposure to the Ministry’s initiatives. Interested candidates must submit their applications by January 10, 2025.
About the Internship
This two-month internship programme is specifically designed for women from non-Tier I cities and rural areas across India. Eligible participants include students, scholars, teachers, and social activists who are associated with academic or non-academic institutions.
The internship seeks to:
- Familiarize interns with the Ministry’s policies and programmes.
- Involve them in pilot projects or micro-studies aligned with the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives.
- Equip participants with the knowledge and skills to advocate for women’s and children’s rights on various platforms.
Through this programme, the Ministry aims to empower interns by enhancing their understanding of policy frameworks and advocacy strategies.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be women students, scholars, teachers, or social activists from non-Tier I cities or rural areas of India.
- Candidates must be enrolled in or associated with an academic or non-academic institution.
Selection Process
- Interns will be selected by a designated Selection Committee.
- The list of selected candidates will be published on the Internship Portal under the “Downloads” section.
- Note: Once selected for this programme, candidates will not be eligible to apply for subsequent internships.
Stipend and Benefits
- A stipend of ₹20,000 per month will be provided.
- Travel expenses for joining and completing the programme will be reimbursed (AC Deluxe Bus/3-Tier AC Train).
- Accommodation: Shared hostel facilities will be available in Delhi, offering basic amenities like triple-sharing rooms with attached bathrooms, along with a table, chair, and cupboard. (Mattress is not included).
